Nipsey Hussle has taken his first Victory Lap in the heavens, while the Marathon Continues here on earth. Hussle was shot outside his store on Slauson Avenue on March 31, 2019. What you do while you're alive allows your legacy to live on. One year later the Marathon Continues and Nipsey Hussel lives on leaving behind his contribution to the South Los Angeles community along with many hit records and memorable moments to last forever. During a recent trip to Los Angeles, much has changed in the city starting with the atmosphere. Not many LA vibes to be found. Perhaps, this Wuhan Covid-19 virus is the blame, but it's no more parties in LA currently. While rolling down Slauson in a convertible mini cooper I saw the transformation of the area. There's a metro transit project underway and a few empty business including the Marathon Clothing store founded by Nipsey and opened in 2017. "I'm trying to live my life so when it's over I got no regrets." HussleErmias Joseph Asghedon, an American rapper, community activist, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and father was born August 15, 1985. He leaves behind to cherish his legacy his two children, his parents, siblings, and partner actress Lauren London. " He stays ready, so he doesn't have to get ready," is what Lauren said of Ermias during their interview. Their last interview together was a GQ couples interview where Lauren asked Nipsey questions about her. Hussle said that London liked "my spirit," and it certainly is felt a year later.
Many people come from all over to pay homage to Nipsey Hussle near his now closed Marathon Clothing store. Since his untimely death, a marvelous mural remains with an everlasting presence of his contributions to his community, and the country as a whole. What Nipsey Hussle song do you have in rotation? I'm jamming "Double Up."

As above, so is below, and this must be hell on earth currently because the Santa Monica Beach is closed until April 19. Know need to imagine what life's like during an public emergency, the entire world is experiencing it with the Wuhan COVID-19 communicable diseases virus. According to dictionary.com a virus is a corrupting influence on morals or the intellect, poison. It also defines a virus as a segment of self replicating code planted illegally often to damage or shut down a system or network.
Moreover, this Wuhan virus was like magic Walla, the entire world has now been introduced to a quarantined lifestyle that includes a $1,200 dollar stimulus check to soothe the sound of bills. A roll of toilet tissue if lucky, social distancing or you will be fined, wash your hands as many times of the day as possible. Don't gather with any large groups, only close in kinship. And if you're feeling sick, second guess your feeling because the hospitals are at capacity controlling the spread of this communicable diseases virus known as Wuhan-Covid 19. So much to think about currently. Maybe the positive outlook is to appreciate being more present in the moment, and not taking for granted the simple pleasures in life like getting your feet wet in the sand at the beach. Perhaps if I would've been more aware that Tuesday, March 17 was going to be my last time at Santa Monica beach before the state of California went into quarantine lifestyle lockdown, then I would have jumped a few waves. After all, I hadn't been back home since 2016, and my brevity was for bereavement of a close kinship relative. That was the perfect time to jump waves, but suppose I only took advantage of the possibility that I would be back to jump a few waves before my flight back to Washington. The City of Santa Monica county issued a statement as follows: The county of LA and its department of Public Health observed an unusually high volume of beach and trial users on March 21, and 22, which seriously impeded the beach and trial users practice of safe and necessary social distancing measures. The order is effective immediately begins March 27- April 19, 2019. What if, I would've jumped a few waves taken advantage of the unknown in that moment I sure wouldn't have as many what if questions while remembering how the waves feel in a state of isolation. What if, the Santa Monica Pier was open? Then I would have purchased another jade bracelet and gotten a few churros. What if the people didn't show up at Santa Monica beach that day? Perhaps they would have to wait until April 19. So after all of the if's, what matters most is the experience. It was one of social distancing before it became nation wide enforcement. Luckily, the beautiful seashells along the seashore sink in the sand as the waves roll tides, leaving such beautiful treasures behind. Not sure if brining sand to the beach would have made a difference, and a space is just that a space until it is filled with ideas that it has significance at that moment in time. After a few yoga poses, and getting my feet and legs wet, I captured a few waves. While doing so, a young child ask me "is that a water camera," I smiled an replied it's a digital camera- thinking to myself, it needs not be anywhere near water needlesstosay the ocean. Despite no beach chairs or concession stands serving their best dish, it was still something compassionate, intimate, courageous, consoling, and very cheerful in that moment of just being present during the unknown at my favorite beach by the way! Being able to see the people spend time with their loved ones and just enjoying the moment was beautiful. I was excited to collect some seashells. It was really a sight too see in such a tranquil place as Santa Monica beach. There were approximately 928 empty parking spaces according to the sign. Moments of solitude can be refreshing when needing to recharge your own spirit. However, the absence of human activity at the beach is scary especially when not many have their feet in the sand, not to mention having a chair to catch a suntan. At this present moment, looking forward to the warm weather with anticipation the quarantined lifestyle has been lifted and the American people are free to put their feet in the sand along the Santa Monica beach shorelines, and the Pier is back popping again. After all, you don't miss a good thing until no humans are allowed at the beach and you won't find any chairs. You will certainly have a challenging time finding any Charmin or Cottonelle toilet paper. Is this a good time to cry now or when the toilet tissue is restocked? The simple things in life are often taken for granted until we are faced with a quarantined lifestyle until April 30, 2020. Update: May 5, 2020 The people sure keep the few journalist remaining very busy. Suppose achieving the ultimate of making a headline bleed these days can take less than 40 days for the people to provide a protein boost for an update. Perhaps not so fast, was on the minds of the people. All it took was for me to travel over 2,000 miles with a wait time of less than 40 days for the element of surprise to spring forth. Roughly, 38 miles from Santa Monica beach shoreline, the residents in the city of Hunington beach are ready to #FullyOpenCalifornia. Too the surprise of Governor Newsome ordinance the people are exercising their right while remaining conscious of the cornona virus. This isn't a violation of the law, but more so taxpayers have had enough of staying in the house and are in need of sunlight and the sand. That sure sounds like a therapeutic recipe for some healing, and the people have planned a #MarchforFreedom. On May 1, many city's in California held peaceful assembly's with a goal to get the message out in a positive and safe manner, in unison wearing red, white, and blue demanding that Governor Newsome fully reopen California now. The people are demanding their rights are restored, making a common sense point that they have the right to work and they can do so while exercising preventive safety measures. The people feel that they have been stripped of their rights to freedom of religion, and the government overreach violates 1st amendment rights and they won't stand for it. Hunington beach is heating up the temperature for peaceful assembly to open the state back up. Just glad too catch up because the people sure can keep you on point and correct your headline anytime. This seating was captured in a very unique library found at the Allentown Art Museum. A nice plush seating might I add. The architect of this seating took their time to construct this unique seat. The design is it self is outstanding and very distinctive with tremendous character- quite cozy also. Often times people can have a unique seat similar to an elected official. Not sure the architect had complacency in mind when designing the chair, but the comfort level can relax one to such a place. Perhaps eventually forgetting about why they choose to sit in the chair. Some unique seating requires a little effort, backed and supported by performing some task function while comfortable. These types of unique seats can be most likely be found on Capitol Hill, the offices of Congressional Officials. One day, many members will have more care and compassion for the people while they occupy the comfortable seat THE PEOPLE provided them. Have you ever noticed a squirrel is always searching for a nut, or climbing up a tree with there bushy tails trailing behind them. They moved very fast, furthermore that might be because they don't want you to scoop up their nuts! While in the park I noticed the squirrel and thought maybe it would stay still long enough for me to capture it's beauty while trying to bundle some food.
According to "Signs & Symbols sourcebook" by Adele Nozedar it's said that a squirrel could travel from the east coast of England westwards to the Irish sea without once setting foot on ground, so dense were the forests. It is seen for many as the epitome of business and industry and symbolic, too of the collector (at best), or the hoarder (at worst). This equates the squirrel with selfishness, despite its need to store away food in hidden caches to ensure its winter survival. Squirrel's were also once seen as sacred to the God of Fire, need for the squirrel to secrete its food meant that like the Devil, he cared too much about material possessions and so was associated with evil. This is such a spectacular seating arrangement for a sip of tea with biscuits while talking to your significant other about some home improvement projects. The setting is just perfect, and the light is beaming in the right places, making it extra special for the talk about the home improvement project. A SEATLocation: Washington, D.C. CAPTURED: 2020.
There's a cliche a mustard seed of faith is all it takes! But what if it's a mustard colored seat for comfort? The colors are very captivating no matter if the chair has been weathered. In fact, it adds to the uniqueness and captivating color. Just from the color I would be drawn to discover what more the place has to offer. Three's company, but keep a stake in the corner because more company can come by. A SEATLocation: Washington, D.C. CAPTURED 2020.
Nothing can come close to the companionship nature provides especially during bonding time while seated in the park. Such a healing and nurturing place for your heart and sou. The park is an even great place for a picnic with a date or family. A moment of stillness and observation of the beauty which surrounds you. A seat at the park is a soothing feeling, and spectacular atmosphere. Location: Washington, DC. CAPTURED 2020. A SEATThe lighting is what makes this seating sort of an element of surprise! Sure the #SuperTuesday results of Joe Biden taken the lead in the polls for Democratic front-runner for President against President Donald Trump was a shocker, even sent the stock market up a notch. According to market watch the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 1,173 points. The S& P soared over 3,000 points. These market projects are much better now than when Joe Biden was Vice President.
Many of the Democratic presidential contenders are dropping out by the millions they've spent on their campaigns. Mike Bloomberg is the latest billionaire to bow out with pizza crust licking fingers saving grace. Perhaps he was just there to push Biden along the way, because his presidential pitch wasn't worth forsaking his media and financial companies. Apparently, Bloomberg had the black vote, but it appears Biden or Bernie Sanders just might have a better reach - perhaps that's pushing it a bit, but time will tell based on their agenda's. While living in Louisiana I would often attend crawfish boils! The tables would be covered in plastic with pounds of crawfish, corn, potatoes, and sausage. And there were folding chairs for seating. Not many people missed the crawfish boil. It's best to ask how to eat crawfish before partaking. It's against crawfish rules to waste the tail. You don't always have to suck the heads, but the tail is the treat! After eating about 5 to 10 pounds then I could back away from the table. Depending on the season, crawfish can be pricey. Cajun's Seafood in New Orleans, Louisiana was the last place I ate crawfish. I ordered to go from Hot & Juicy Crawfish in Washington, DC. I was very impressed with the seasoning. Sure it can't compare to Cajun's Seafood, but it's a great substitute until I can have the savory Lousiana Crab and Crawfish boil taste on great size crawfish. The best way to clean your hands after eating crawfish is to sprinkle some salt in the palm of your hand along with the hand soap of your choice, rub your hands together gently. Repeat this 2 more times and the crawfish smell on your hands shouldn't be as potent. A SEATLocation: Seat Pleasant, MD, CAPTURED 2020. What age did you learn to do laundry? This is sort of a task that sticks with you throughout your adult life. Often times when seated at the laundromat it's a challenge to watch the clock and remain calm about the next phase of laundry - having to dry the clothes. The wait is usually based on how many loads of laundry one has. The cost of laundry can range from $0.25 cents for the use of a dryer, and start at $1.50 to $8.50 if you want to cut the wait time.
Not sure who hasn't experienced being in a laundromat, but the seats are not that comfortable. Having a book to read or your smartphone charged sure helps the time go by. The laundromat also is the place that cleanse the clothes of all buildup, basically the detergent helps during the wash- it all comes out in the wash, while seated. |
