American History is very amateur in relation to the British Empire. However, its unique history is what holds all the mysticism, innovation, inventions, current, and unknown discoveries together. What's very dynamic is the opportunity to learn about your role as it relates to America's history. Where do you fit in? What were the conditions like? Did all of your family live in the home together? These simple questions can answer the long quest for a connection, identity, and having a sense of purpose in society. These questions could have very well been what Carter G. Woodson was thinking when striving to secure and make the most of one's divine right of freedom through preservation of history, in particular people of African decent. It was only 400 years ago the Virginia Company of London, ruled by a charter, authored by King Jame I - would introduce a representative government to the English America, known as Virginia today. A few months later, August of 1619, the arrival of a Portuguese ship, The White Lion sailing from Angola to Veracruz, Mexico would dock at Point Comfort with 20 Africans in bondage on board, to be sold since the captains of the ship didn't have any metals or food for rations. The Africans in bondage were originally bound for the Caribbean and South America in Spanish colonies where slavery was already established. Arriving in bondage they brought skills the colonizer lacked such as farming, herders, blacksmith, and artisans. The African's brought their own culture, language, and beliefs that shaped innovations in food production, crop cultivation, and contributed to American cultural traditions. The arrival of The White Lion with African's in bondage on board was documented by John Rolfe, a recorder of the Virginia Company. He was later appointed to Colony's Council of State. John Rolfe was baptized in England, and later became a Virginia planter marrying Pocahontas. He insisted it was "for the good of this plantation, for the honour of our country, for the glory of God, for my own salvation, and for the converting to the true knowledge of God and Jesus Christ and unbelieving creature, Pokahuntas..." This marriage would be a symbolic representation of peace for a few years, especially while Rolfe was experimenting with Tobacco farming to ensure economic stability for the colony. In 2019, we celebrate and honor the twenty Africans in bondage, bound for the English colony. The National Park Services is commemorating a significant moment in American History: The landing of the first enslaved Africans in English- occupied North America in 1619 at Port Comfort, now Port of Fort Monroe national monument. Moreover, this landing would be the landmark to the life long works of Carter G. Woodson, providing a starting point for the purpose of preserving and documenting history. His contribution would later become a movement materialized as Negro History Week. The weather was fitting for the ceremony on Sunday, August 25, 2019. Many gathered in Washington, DC at the Carter G. Woodson Home, National Historic Site commemorating the first landing of enslaved Africans with a bell ringing ceremony, violinist, and a ranger tour with an reenactment of Carter G. Woodson portrayed by Dexter Hamlitt. The ceremony included a facilitated dialogue about the importance of education. The events were a collaborative effort between the National Park Services and ASALH. The Woodson Home is the 389th unit for the National Park Services, and served as a center for research and publication of African American history and the birthplace of Negro History Week, which has not been legislated by Congress. The Woodson house was the selection for the celebration because I'd never been, and it was required that I read "The Mis-Education of the Negro," before attending any classes at Dillard University. Very glad for the decision, because of the facilitated dialogue along with the tours. It was a magnificent and valuable learning experience. The goal of the dialogue past, present, and future, facilitated by NPS ranges and ASALH is to educate not just African Americans about their own history, but everyone. It's important to make sure people understand our history was a diverse one, which includes many backgrounds, and perspectives, especially people who struggled and weren't acknowledge. Dr. Barbra Dunn, VP of ASALH Membership said "he actually documented the truth about people of Afican decent in this country, and history had informed all through the years," speaking of the influence and contributions Carter G. Woodson made to American history and culture. According to Dr. Dunn, if the truth about our history had not been documented all those unjust laws that were put in place in this country, there would have been no history to prove that we were denied citizenship. That we were denied all the things like Brown v. Board of Education. If Dr. Woodson had not trained scholars in this space, documented the truth about the history those people wouldn't have had what they needed to prove that case. So history has informed law, history has empowered us to to know who we are, to be better, and Dr. Woodson is for all of us. All of the heritage holidays that are celebrated in this country were modeled after what Dr. Woodson did when he started Negro History Week. In 1976, ASALH expanded it to Black History Month. Carter G. Woodson died April 3, 1950, before the expansion of Negro Week, but his legacy lives on. How has education shaped your future? "It reveals and makes us better people. He went out of his way to make it truthful history of a people. We've gotten a chance to see what information can do, he knew the power of information and was a saint for dedicating his life history," says one participant at the ceremony. Carter G. Woodson believe race is a social construct, put together to perpetuate inferior and superior, and we were all created equal and there is only one race, the human race and that's the message he wanted to put out. Now think about how education has shaped who you are!

the muller report, finally laid to rest during the early morning hearing at the rayburn building8/7/2019 After 24 months of investigations, roughly $30 million taxpayer dollars spent on the production of the Muller Report, with two volumes consisting of over 400 pages, but not exceeding 450 pages. Furthermore, not including the copy of the Muller Report at the bookstores. The moment of truth had finally found its way to the final hearing on behalf of the 116th Congress, as to clarity and closure pertaining to allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential Election. The Presidential election in question of Russian interference is when Donald Trump won over Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. Perhaps holding a hearing at 8:30 in the morning is a great sign of wanting to bring some final closure to the pressing matter. The Committee on Judiciary held what had to be one of the most anticipated hearings in America's history, other than the reparations hearing, "Oversight of the Report on the Investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential Election" featuring former Special Counsel, and Director of FBI (2001-13) Robert S. Muller, III. "A great day for justice," was a comment coming from one of the many people standing in the halls of the Rayburn Building to enter the hearing room for the findings of the Muller Report. The halls were filled with news cameras's and reporters on one side, and people on the other waiting for the man of the morning, Robert Muller, The Special Counsel assigned to the investigation of Russia interference in the 2016 Presidential Election. The hearings are in part as a result of a dossier being doctored up and authored by a former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele. The Steele dossier is a private intelligence report written from June until December 2016, containing allegations of misconduct and conspiracy between Donald Trumps campaign and the government of Russia. The legitimacy of the Steele dossier has been the bases for questioning and sparked the investigation. However, whether it was verified for authenticity of factual evidence was the role of Special Counsel Robert Muller's investigation the last 24 months. The London based private intelligence firm owned by Steele, made the claim that Russia collected a file of compromising information on United States President Donald Trump. The private London base intelligence firm was also hired by Fusion GPS, based in Washington DC. Fusion GPS provides premier research, strategic intelligence, and due diligence service to corporations, law firms, and investors worldwide with expertise in media, politics, regulation, national security, and global markets. The unforeseen concern could have stem from the moment Fusion GPS was hired by Hillary Clinton's campaign for president and Democratic National Committee. From Steele's London based firm, to Fusion's premier research and due diligence service, it sparked 24 months of investigations which should give a detailed account of the dossier authentication, legitimacy, and the verification process which in part produced the Muller Report. Meanwhile, hopefully the hearing would satisfy the unknown questions and concerns of allegations involving President Donald Trump and Russia.
The moment of truth would soon start once Special Counsel Robert Muller arrived inside the Rayburn Building and was sworn in. "Looking forward to hearing grounds for impeachment because I want this President out of here, and hope the Democrats find an angle and ram it through," suggest Andres as he stood in line waiting to enter the hearing. Chairman Jerrold Nadler was ready for some clarity and closure with his intention to hold the hearing to 3 hours, and emphasized "in this nation, not even the President is above the law," during his opening statement at the hearing. That phrase, soon became quickly adopted by other Committee members during the hearing. Responsibility, integrity, and accountability are marks measured by the Committee on Judiciary, just in case it needed reinforcing. During his opening statement, Chairman Nadler informed Director Muller that the Committee has a duty to discuss the investigation. And the process begins, follow facts with a lead and consider all appropriate remedies, and make recommendations to the House of Representatives when work concludes. In May 2017, acting Attorney General Jeff Sessions asked Robert Muller to serve as Special Counsel with a paramount interest to the nation whether a foreign advisor had interfered in the Presidential Election. The appointment was necessary for the American people to have full confidence in the outcome, and was carried out with that objective in mind. Muller stated that the report set forth the results of his work and reason for charging, then Attorney General William Barr made the report largely public. "The hearing is long overdue," what we need today is that truth to bring us confidence and hopes closure stated Ranking member Collins during his opening remarks. The order directed Special Counsel Robert Muller to investigate Russian interference in 2016 election, which included investigating any links or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the Trump campaign. It also included investigating interfering with or obstructing Muller's investigation. During his opening testimony Robert Muller stated he addressed two things with his team, to first do their work as thoroughly as possible and second as expeditiously as possible. "The investigation needed to be conducted fairly, with absolute integrity," says Muller during his testimony. Some people while waiting to enter the hearing room felt they should've gotten to the Rayburn building earlier, but they tried and 7:30 a.m. wasn't early enough. "I just think this is important part of democracy and action even if we don't hear anything spectacular from Muller, and he just repeats what he's already put into print, its an important first step in a process that I think is going to be historically really significant," says Alex while outside the Rayburn Building. "Our team did not leak or take other actions that could compromise the integrity of our work," stated Muller during his testimony. According to Muller all decisions were based on the facts and the law. Certain points of emphasis and final findings of the Muller Report including Volumes I and II:
