BACK TO THE BASICS |
Washington, D.C. - Wednesday was certainty a transition for America's tech giants to gather before House Committee on the Judiciary remotely, for the most anticipated hearing since the Impeachment trials "Online Platform and Market Power: Part 6 Examining the Dominance of Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google" subcommittee on Antitrust. Considering these companies combined have more authority and power than local governments and it appears almost total authority over Congress, it was time for a conversation to understand if there's room in the marketplace for Conservative views along with medical reviews other than the World Health Organization, and most importantly election security since it's roughly 96 days until the 2020 Presidential election. Giving America's tech companies the benefit of doubt, does having a remote hearing help them in the near future get closer to learning their day-to-day business operations beyond how much Advertising or App store revenue will be generated for the quarterly report earnings? Is it time to break America's tech giants up into a utility for proper enforcement and oversight? Many of the tech leaders took remote time to honor the late Congressman John Lewis, not that they have ensured his district has access to their products and services. Before Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wisconsin) kicks back and becomes a statesman it was critical for him to attend the hearing in person to gain a better perspective of the power these tech companies possess. He expressed that free speech has become a public square political debate where Conserative views are censored, and wanted to know from them "how your individual companies use your size and power and what it means to the American people?" This is a great question, but wishful thinking for a common sense answer. Chairman Jerry Nadler was alert and wanted to hear directly from the leaders of America's tech companies. The only thing is one of the dominating forces of free speech Twitter wasn't present even with a invite from Congress. Congressman Nadler stated that it's impossible to use the internet without using one of the services provided by Amazon, Google, Facebook, and Apple, and in the shadow ban box Twitter. Congress has a duty to ensure Antitrust laws preserve a healthy marketplace although they are not the enforcing body, and Antitrust agency is, and should take action if found to be lacking. America's tech giants make up majority of infrastructure in the 21st century, and Congress recognizes how they have reshaped the role in our society being new digital intermediaries with dominate market control and power. "I'll cut to the chase, Big tech is out to get Conservatives," stated Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), while reading the list of behaviors some of these companies have displayed. "I haven't even mentioned Twitter," who we invited he expressed while still reading the extensive list of problematic and ongoing behaviors of these companies. Just a glitch in the algorithm was once the reply one of the tech companies gave Congressman Jordan when he inquired about a prior abnormal behavior displayed by these companies. He even pointed out that the donations that Google made to the Hillary election campaign could have been a contributing factor in some system biases, and considering the election is less than 100 days away Congressman Jordan asked the head of Google, the father of Alphabet Inc., Sundar Pichai "is Google going to tailor its features to help Joe Biden in upcoming 2020 election?" Sundar Pichai replied "we support the work that campaigns do." Pichai told Congressman Jordan "I can assure you we complied with laws in 2016," and has his commitment that the Google search engine will not silence Conservatives. Not sure how the hearing heating up abruptly after those questions. All you could hear next was "put your mask on," being directed at Congressman Jordan. The hearing went into a recess which was remotely needed, even for the router to rest. Coming back at a reasonable Amazon Prime time, Jeff Bezos was ready to share what limited insight he possess of the dominating business style. He wanted the world to know that he wasn't born into great monetary wealth but a wealth of love and nurture from his parents. His mother overcame many challenges o care for him. Jeff eventually left Wall Street for his garage to build Amazon. Today it is the customer obsession that has driven the success of Amazon Bezos shared remotely. Bezos wanted Congress to know that he has spent billions to build the market and maintaining it providing opportunity for 1.7 million small businesses on Amazon. Jeff Bezos does know that entrepreneurial companies grow and thrive all here in the US. The father of Google, Alphabet's Sundar Pichai expressed that growing up in India he didn't have a computer, so when he built the first free browser Google's Chrome he was inspired. He is aware that Google's work wouldn't be possible without the innovation of America while building helpful products and using digital tools to grow businesses. "Google succeeds when others succeed," Sundar Pichai said remotely during the hearing, and they put consumers in control of data. Apple's Time Cook wanted to remind Congress how Apple revolutionized the industry with developing a store in 2008. "Competition promotes innovation," Cook shared of Apple. The Apple store carries over 1.6 million apps. Despite disagreeing with the characterization and premise of certain questions regarding their behaviors and business practices displayed by Apple, Tim wanted Congress to know "we don't retaliate or bully people." Moreover, Tim suggest that they do look at every app before it goes on to the app store. "In the end we don't want to become the arbitrator of truth," Mark Zuckerberg expressed of Facebook during his remote testimony. The goal of Facebook is to offer a platform for all ideas while defending free expression. "We don't prohibit discussion on trial of drugs," Mark mentioned when asked about a video being removed that displayed doctors discussing another treatment for the coronavirus. Mark didn't want his mobile camera/mobile sharing acquisition to be the main points for Congress so he articulated that they purchased Instagram because it aligned with the mobile sharing model and makes Facebook products better after disagreeing with the characterization and premise of the question presented. "I think Instagram has been a success story," Mark shared with Congress during the hearing. Congressman Sensenbrenner suggest Congress does a poor job of picking winners and losers, and it was Obama's FTC that signed off on the Facebook acquisition passing the smell test that it wasn't a problem with the law. This remote hearing was over 5 hours, and required much data usage, bandwidth, and network connectivity. Furthermore, what does the future hold for America's tech giants? Will a day of separation into a utility for enforcement and oversight be the only solution for the dominating forces? First we must get pass the 2020 Presidential election and then go from there.

Washington, D.C.- As if the public square space with restrictions on free speech isn't in enough entanglements with its users and Congress, Twitter wants to take engagement efforts to entitlement holding hashtag positions placing a special interest count on its analytical data. Furthermore, not sure even Sherlock Holmes could solve the mystery of how the community square space authorizes which free speech should flow in the public forum square space. The Black Lives Matter movement hashtag has been on and off trend like a light sensor. However, in 2020 the light sensor stayed on shining the dust to dawn light on police brutality in America, along with many other injustices and traumatic experience that only plague one demographic of the American population which has been a continuous cycle, even before a creation of hashtag or a public square space with freedom of expression restrictions.
Why didn't the hashtag really shine much light at the June 2019 reparations hearing? The trend has broken the thread, surpassing the public community space, making a grand entrance to sports apparels and arenas, business storefronts art, and even yellow paint asphalt projects. Not only is the hashtag domination social media, the perception of that dominate force has started to transfer into society with the use of intimidation tactics in selective democratic states. Some of the peaceful protest tactics involve setting infrastructure ablaze, destroying others property, and just lawlessness throughout every city they invade in the name of #BlackLivesMatter while honoring the death of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. The Black Lives Matter social justice reform movement is one of the best if not greatest marketing campaigns in the history of the Democratic party to exploit the demographic they don't invest in beyond criminal justice. The buzz word Black has been used interchangeably depending upon the emotional trigger the movement organizer is going for. Moreover, not one piece of legislation in sight to present a solution for all the protest in the Democratic cities so close to the 2020 Presidential election. Since the Black Lives Matter hashtag had total domination and force both in the Twitter public forum square space and the movement moving into most democratic run cities, it was critical at that moment for some positive reinforcement on my thread expression balancing it all out to the expression that my civil liberties were not bestowed upon me by #BlackLivesMatter, but my Creator. That resulted in my tweet analytics certainty having a difficult time with the count, reach and engagement. Isn't the main feature for the social networking platform engagement. Most businesses are more focus on engagement along with analytics to gauge how many products or how to leverage their services to meet the demands. But if Twitter is taking time to alter the count how will the data be accurate? It most likely will result in an error at no fault of your own, simply the discretion of the public community square space. Not sure why that presented some peculiar projection for the public forum square space during a time in America where tensions are high, however it appears Twitter only wants certain civil liberties tweets that include Black Lives Matter hashtags. No justice no free speech on the social platform, so what will the future hold for Twitter? Perhaps it will be based on the perimeter of free speech freely flowing in the square space. Washington, DC - "A human action is morally good, not because it is done from immediate inclination-still less because it is done for the sake of duty", Immanuel Kant. And in the midst of unprecedented change, Globalization is increasing in question mainly issues facing the world from social life, to military, along with containing the spread of COVID-19 that require global change and dialogue; so it was dynamic for the Atlantic Council in Turkey along with the Turkish Heritage Organization to host "The Crisis of the Liberal Order and Future of Global Cooperation Webinar recently. The distinguished virtual guest panelist included Gulnur Aybet - Senior Advisor to the President of the Republic of Turkey, Professor at the Turkish National Defense University, Damon Wilson- Executive Vice President Atlantic Council, with discussion moderator Matthew Kroenig- Deputy Director, Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security and Director, Global Strategy Initiative, Atlantic Council.
The paradigm shift in structure of technology from World War II to now is one that's breathtaking, frightening, and remains optimistic and open with endless possibilities. Furthermore, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt didn't see Zoom in the New Deal, so the advancement in our ability to communicate has certainly seen a shift which ultimately has connected nations, the people in them and beyond allowing a different perspective of the way of life. Not only the advancement of technology, but government agency expansion, military overhaul strengthen and rebuilding, labor market, healthcare industry have seen measurable results which has influenced certain customs, traditions, values and belief systems causing them to advance or remain stagnant. At The Start Franklin Delano Roosevelt, better known as FDR, is the 32nd President of the United States (1933-45), and was the only president elected to office 4 times. Much was different when he occupied the White House, starting with the structure of the government. The expansion was a moment of excitement and enthusiasm, but was probably the point where power exceeded the boundaries, but the tax benefits were bountiful, so because of the tax benefits it was perceived by the Administration as a reasonable solution. During his term the state Department started out with only 9 employees. The Treasury Department was concerned with collecting taxes and finding ways to pay the public debt, it had much power then. Congress was the dominant branch of government and the Post Office Department only provided significant services. New agencies were created to deal with the new national economy such as the Pension Office, The Department of Agriculture, Labor, and Commerce, and the National Bureau of Standards. These agencies had one thing in common: their role was to serve, to do research, gather statistics, pass out benefits - but not to regulate. The basic features of the bureaucracy were established mainly as a result of changes in public attitudes and the Constitutional interpretation that occurred. In Times of War, A New Deal It's hasn't been scientifically proven that the values and belief system of the people in a nation stays the course of a war, despite wanting to cheer servicemen and women on to victory. Not to mention the cost of war, which is usually carried on the backs of the people in that nation or region. President Roosevelt had a dynamic delivery in the White House with doubt casters viewing his New Deal as dysfunctional since tax payers carry the burden of others. FDR's Administration took action to bring immediate economic relief as well as reforms in industry, agriculture finance, waterpower, labor, and housing which vastly increased the scope of the federal governments activities. The New Deal served as the principal architect of the successful efforts to rid the world of German National Socialism and Japanese militarism. It would be interesting to learn if these government agencies adopted how President Roosevelt abbreviated his name so they adopted that order with agencies such as the EPA, Environmental Protection Agency. WWII created the first great financial boom for the government permitting the sustained expansion of a great variety of programs that in turn supported a large number of administrators. Many criticized FDR for undermining American free-market capitalism for unconstitutional expanding the powers of the federal government and for transforming the nation into a welfare state. This was the first time during which the government made heavy use of federal income taxes - on individuals and corporations- to finance its activities. From 1940-45, the total federal tax collection increased from about $5 billion to nearly $44 billion. The end of the war brought no significant tax reduction, according to American Government Brief Version, Fifth edition. New Deal Order and Direction Liberal order was established in the aftermath of WWII led part largely by the United States. It describes the notion that contemporary international relations are organized around several guiding principles:
Where does America go from here? Now that the WWII backdrop has been set, let's zoom in on the webinar for further insight on what the future holds for liberal order and the global cooperation. According to Professor Aybet, the definition of liberal international order is derived from 2 things, a difference between idea and what it had been in practice. This concept of creating order around certain norms while safe guarding with robust institutions and safe space for war life in Europe, acting on an empty plate presenting challenges of global order fragmentation. Mr. Wilson of the Atlantic Council view of liberal order encompasses abstract concepts that look at history, international order, in the moment and see all perils and faults and see 7 decades of peace stretch back 100 years. It has produced a triple of GDP per capital with an extraordinary economy at end of WWII producing 96 democracies. It's historic from peace prosperity and individual freedom which give meaning and purpose to set of norms fostering cooperative behavior around states backed up by role of Democratic states. Professor Aybet expressed to see the benefits of liberal order you must examine its origin. It's been remarkable from human being experience. Europe at the core to transform the war system into a peace system projecting liberty into post communist phase. There are shortcomings from critical eye which became tarnish by those who created it with selective implementation of norms. The United Nations being apart of the structure regardless of critics, those international institutions are important. "Leave no one behind," not capable of carrying out those expectations. It's foolish to hold onto the past shared Mr. Wilson during the virtual discussion. A struggle for civil rights in the United States and Cold War, understand and except global world change. The challenge begins at home first, with self renewal in US then across challenges with external forces such as China, Russia with the reality of changes in tech transparency. Time to own out shortcomings, and the political dysfunction in Washington overlay a global pandemic and anti-racist movement in the US. The rise of China during the COVID-19 pandemic has presented some perplexing positioning for the entire global world supply chain. Nobody in NATO would like to see the United States stepping back but we can align different priorities in security challenges with power rivalry understanding the difference and where we are in terms of international system. The other set of challenges are within the Transatlantic core preserving liberal order and a new mercantilism conflict isn't happening elsewhere except Europe and America. Turkey has been impart of liberal international order as a member of EU, a functional ally not strategic partner. There is an identity construct define in liberal order in terms of Turkey; a trading state and bilateral relations step back with labels, become accustom to think different and is this a relationship more beneficial. Turkey belonging to Western security community has been beneficial. Turkey was looked at as an ally during the Cold War. Much more of strategic partner engaging and trading state and under more criticism for belonging to west. State self sufficiency not taking subordinate to international institutions but works globally and not entirely reliant on supply chain. This forces states to become more self-help states treated by allies by old functional role. More countries are going to be more self-help and more self sufficient and want allies to be more supportive in their role, come together based on common need Professor Aybet shared. A beauty of a system turning behind good for fostering peace an prosperity is exclusive to sovereignty. It leads to misalignment which will open doors to adversaries and it won't be peace and prosperity. It's up to us to modern up. We are not leaving the system behind were talking about readjusting it. "It was good for all of us," feel it's not beneficial to their interest as it used too. Rather than top down, look at bottom up problems and solutions stated Professor Abeyt. "We as a great democracy preserve and protect growth for human dignity of citizens," connecting a concept of freedom at home expressed Damon Wilson. With regards to the United States Turkish relations, Mr. Wilson stated "Turkey, we need to understand the challenges and get on same team." Hopeful peace, prosperity, liberty with the pursuit of happiness and freedom of expression and less restrictions on the way of life are somewhere in the new direction of America. Oh beautiful, amber waves of grain. Where's the police reform? Perhaps after all the destruction and lawlessness in the name of George Floyd Congress would have more to offer. Obviously, Mayor Bowser wanted to beautify the city with Black Lives Matter plaza along with a street sign to symbolize this is where everything comes to end, and the expectancy of police reform being signed into law remains in the yellow paint on the asphalt. Although many have been marching since before the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, will the death of George Floyd be the Holy Grail for police reform becoming law? The George Floyd protest which originated in Minneapolis, the Twin Cities around May 26. Once the police precinct went up in flames, it spread like a wild fire all across the US even landing some up close and personal with camera time at CNN. Large retail store such as Target were cleaned out from looters. Not only were the peaceful protest demonstrations on a different scale, the protest was met with the coronavirus during a public health emergency pandemic. During phase I of the #ReOpenDC task force plans, a protest in the name of George Floyd had taken over the city and even setting the church ablaze. If Black lives really matter beyond the social justice banner to mobilize on emotions, where is the confirmation in the police reform legislation? How many more chants and signs will go up, before the the police reform law has been enforced? With many preexisting conditions causing an ongoing cycle of underlying disadvantages and systemic barriers, barricading equal access to opportunity; needless to say adequate healthcare services during a public emergency health pandemic, many American's are still uninsured, and more time is wasted on police reform with no measure of accountability. So when could Black Lives possibly Matter? Furthermore, the flare up, fierce, and full force of the invisible threat, coronavirus has caused many acute preexisting conditions to be swept under a mask making manufacturer; suffocating the symptoms causing the body to eventually break down, heading 6 ft into the ground. Now that the paint has been applied to the asphalt spelling out "Black Lives Matter." Where has the movement really taking a black life in America beyond the social justice banner chants of "I can't breathe, stop killing us, no justice no peace?" Before the arrival of the invisible threat coronavirus, healthcare for Blacks in America was still a reoccurring insurance plan coverage concern, but the triage hasn't even started to stabilize any blood pressures. Is there possibly any hope in the healthcare system for Blacks in America? Will the insurance coverage be considered on a sliding scale vaccine dosage or how they're overall health is? If Blacks in America can't even get access to adequate human services, and healthcare being most critical next to housing, how can the Congressional Black Caucus believe they will achiever the Holy Grail of healing the wounds of Blacks in America in relation to police reform? With preexisting conditions already not treated then the surprise force of the coronavirus, resulting in public health emergency pandemic with enforcement of stay home orders while social distancing; eventually directing Mayor's and Governor's to close their prospective states. Los Angeles was closed for any none essential businesses back in March. From that moment, a few task force were formed to address the rate at which each state will ease restrictions caused by the coronavirus. Prior to testing for the coronavirus could be accessed, a protest had erupted in the Twin Cities, Minneapolis on May 26 caused by the police force used when George Floyd was apprehended for alleging using a counterfeit $20 at a local community store. Moreover, there's not much information about what George Floyd purchased with alleged counterfeit currency which resulted in the cops being called. In Washington, DC as sample set, the city was in Phase I of re-opening during a public health emergency pandemic when a protest suddenly took over the streets even setting the historic church ablazed. The protest for George Floyd was on a scale, scope, and magnitude America hadn't seen in sometime. Not sure when the last time a police precinct was burned down in a protest? The KKK would set the church ablaze, but not the precinct. Major retail stores such as Target were literally cleaned out by looters and many local business were already under operational uncertainty before the protest presented such unforeseen damage, assessed at millions requested by the Mayor of Minneapolis. The identity of the permit holder for the George Floyd protest during a public emergency health pandemic has yet to be made fully disclosed, George Soros social justice reform organization Black Lives Matter which could very well be under the tabulation of the Open Society Foundation, started to show up on the scene even displaying their genitalia to protest police brutality.
Using a lawless, non-peaceful bully approach for protesting the killing of George Floyd, the civil rights activists that first arrived at the scene in Minneapolis had no list of demands, but only an ask to "stop killing us." The protest was burnt in translation by the time any political party could ponder a remedy to the preexisting condition by which the Obama Administration's small gesture of showing up at a prison was the main highlight since that had never been done by a sitting president . What if the civil rights leaders that arrived in the Twin Cities had a list of demands, could that have helped the Congressional Black Caucus find a cure for the current conditions of police brutality and a bill be signed into law currently? Let's examine the prescriptions to the police brutality in these bill formulas brought forth to better determine if there is any possibly final remedy for police reform, an apparatus of the Criminal Justice clinic that's has a revolving door for Blacks in America.
Will there be another protest before police reform is signed into law, what is Congress waiting on? Could it be for more cities to chant "defund the police?" Such beautiful sunny weather, Salute to America, Independence Day was very different in 2020, a more intimate and private celebration. This year's celebration honored each of the nation's five service branches with music, military demonstrations, including a flight demonstration by the Blue Angels and more. The fireworks show ran roughly 35 minutes, a special moment brought to you by Phantom Fireworks and Fireworks by Grucci. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted Salute to America 2020. Certainty, the only thing that was missing was the wine and cheese plates for the adults. After the quarantine life with stay at home enforcement due to an invisible threat the corona virus, and weeks of peaceful protest that resulted in burning buildings, statues being removed only to reach the yellow transcription on the asphalt to spell out "Black Lives Matter," but nothing has been signed into law as a resolution, rather a remixed version of social justice, requesting to defund the police. Furthermore, the sentiment for excising civil liberties appeared to only be applicable to peaceful protest, with lawless behaviors; just don't exceed past defunding the police, but expect ridicule for wanting to exercise your unalienable rights. The tone leading up to July 4, 2020 had triggered some sort of overcast with no benefit of the doubt giving to those that still have a love and like for their country, and because of police brutality why should anyone celebrate America's independence from Great Britain? Moreover, even the most ethical and critical censorship square space not spreading any discourse but allowing public forum expressions, Twitter didn't hesitate to allow "#fvckthe4th" to become the number one hashtag trend in the United States. Perhaps that wasn't any speech that the community guideline standards would have any objections too. Despite all the detours in celebrating America's independence, many people brought their coolers, picnic baskets, and blankets to enjoy Salute to America 2020. From the South Lawn, President Trump gave his remarks, "thanks to the courage of those patriots of July 4th, 1776, the American Republic stands today as the greatest, most exceptional, and most virtuous nation in the history of the world." President Trump emphasized that our artists, architects, and engineers have inspired the globe with transcendent works of beauty. American heroes defeated the Nazis, dethroned the fascists, toppled the communists, saved American values, upheld American principles, and chased down the terrorists to the very ends of the Earth. We are now in the process of defeating the radical left, the Marxists, the anarchists, the agitators, the looters, and people who, in many instances have absolutely no clue what they are doing. Through all the roller coaster events, an intimate and private setting was the atmosphere for Salute to America, July 4th, going off, fireworks. Nature does provide healing qualities for the human body. Most medicines today derived from a plant. Have you ever noticed what types of plants, flowers, and trees grow in your neighborhood? There's nothing like a sweet magnolia tree on the street to freshen it up. Or what about some jasmine, hopefully I don't find it for some hot tea during the day! The healing qualities found in nature are endless, starting with the ability to breathe fresh air. Thankful for the trees, we can inhale some positive affirmations and exhale any toxic talks and discussions that weigh heavy on the human body.
Here's some interesting things about honeysuckle: it has many varieties, and Japanese honeysuckle was introduced to the United States in the early to mid-1800's for ornamental use and use as a soil stabilizer. The Native Americans smoked the dried leaves of coral honeysuckle to relieve the symptoms of asthma (The Power of Flowers). Have you ever found that going for a walk made a difference in how you felt before the walk? What about if you see a yellow jacket enjoying some pollination therapy? That's pretty impressive. Seeing the yellow jacket in reality is more impressive than the yellow jacket being your high school mascot, but the same pep-rally spirit is still there. One could even classify nature as alternative medicine that's very cost effective. The only dilemma is that not many people are taking advantage of the benefits, so before the air becomes a bundle deal to be sold separately you just might want to go out and spend some bonding time in nature. The birds just might show up to sing you a song! Don't forget, your smartphone can even go along with you! In fact, you should take it just in case you find something very fascinating! There's healing in nature's vibrations. |
